During Milan Design Week, internationally renowned tile manufacturer Marazzi renovated its showroom in Via Borgogna with the striking “POLIEDRICA” project, which was orchestrated by Antonio Citterio and Patricia Viel of ACPV ARCHITECTS and brings a new interpretation to the use of tiles in indoor and outdoor spaces.
From the appearance of the exhibition hall, it blends into the urban streetscape of Milan, showing its unique charm against the background of the bustling city. Although the design is not overly exaggerated, it attracts the attention of passers-by through simple and textured lines and color matching that complements the surrounding buildings, conveying the brand's design concept and innovative spirit to people, making people look forward to the wonderful interior of the exhibition hall.

Walking into the showroom, the contemporary living room space created by the "POLIEDRICA" project is eye-catching. Inspired by the cozy home atmosphere, this space takes ceramic tiles as the absolute protagonist, creating a warm and enveloping environment. Here, ceramic tiles are no longer just simple wall or floor covering materials, but sublimated into a real decorative element. For example, the pleated wall design is unique, and the undulating texture adds a sense of three-dimensionality and dynamic beauty to the space, which contrasts with the smooth glazed tiles, forming a delicate contrast between the simple covering and the bright gloss of the glazed tiles.

The vertical strip decorations in the exhibition hall are paved with three-dimensional tiles, which further enhances the sense of hierarchy of the space. These carefully designed elements fully tap into the material properties of ceramic tiles and maximize their application potential. The bookshelf-style display racks are not only used to display items, but also become a stage for telling brand stories. The cut, chamfered and spliced ceramic tiles are transformed into storytelling elements, reminiscent of exquisite craftsmanship and the creativity of transforming ordinary materials into unique products, adding depth and a rich sense of narrative to the entire space.

The showroom’s workspaces were also completely redesigned, with the introduction of an open kitchen being a particular highlight. The kitchen features new 160x320 slabs of Silver Root White and Slow Calce tiles, which, thanks to 3D ink technology, bring out the details and depth of the tile surface, greatly enhancing the material’s texture. The open kitchen blurs the boundaries of functional zoning, integrating cooking, display and communication functions as part of the exhibition route and brand experience. The high-gloss tiles used as the kitchen backsplash not only create a stylish and modern atmosphere visually, but also add a sense of privacy to the space, making it flexible and adaptable to different usage scenarios, whether it is a formal display event or a relaxed social gathering, it can perfectly fit.

In addition, the showroom also showcases the results of the "New AI Generative Marble" project. Inspired by nature and digitally optimized, these large slabs of tiles generated by artificial intelligence algorithms combine the organic uniqueness of natural marble with the precision of digital technology. This not only promotes the environmentally sustainable development of ceramic production, but also brings new possibilities to interior design, showing the deep integration of technology and art in the field of tiles.

在米蘭設(shè)計(jì)周期間,馬拉齊還推出了《Marazzi Under the Skin》一書。 CDuring Milan Design Week, Marazzi also launched the book Marazzi Under the Skin. Curated by Studio Blanco and Cosimo Bizzarri, the book tells the 90-year history of the brand through a bold and modern narrative. Featuring many never-before-seen images, the book takes readers on a journey through the brand’s history, exploring the evolution of its design and aesthetic.

The "POLIEDRICA" project and its series of innovative displays in the Marazzi showroom achieve a perfect fusion of design and function through unique interior and exterior decoration design, redefining the relationship between materials and space. Here, visitors can immerse themselves in a wonderful journey of texture, light and touch, feel the infinite charm of tile art, and also get a glimpse of the innovative direction of the future development of the ceramic industry.
