3月6日，美國第三古老的高等學府——圣約翰學院院長Nora Demleitner一行訪問了啟明星。
Demleitner女士向啟明星家長介紹了美國獨具特色的文理學院教育，接受啟明星學生電視臺的訪問，也參觀了校園。
這位有著329年歷史古老學院的Annapolis校區(qū)掌門人說，啟明星讓她感到熟悉又親切，因為它和圣約翰學院有著諸多相似的地方——
“小而美”
圣約翰學院成立于1696年，是美國歷史第三久遠的高等學府。它有2個校區(qū)，每個校區(qū)500人，和啟明星的規(guī)模相似。
Demleitner院長說，小規(guī)模社區(qū)有著明顯的優(yōu)勢——不只讓學生得到高度關注，獲得在大學校里難以得到的資源，也能讓大家實現(xiàn)深層的溝通和互動。和啟明星的家長、老師交談之后，她感受到，啟明星也是一個關系緊密的社區(qū)。
“探索生活的真意”
Demleitner院長說，文理學院不只教授學生技術(shù)性的知識，也培養(yǎng)學生的思辨和溝通能力，鼓勵學生自由討論，探索生活的真意，為適應世界的復雜和未知做好準備。所以，圣約翰學院的學生畢業(yè)后職業(yè)發(fā)展空間非常大，有律師、記者、華爾街的金融人士，也有教師和科研人員……
這樣的培養(yǎng)思路和啟明星非常相似。啟明星鼓勵學生探索自己真正的熱愛，也通過獨有的社會創(chuàng)新項目，培養(yǎng)學生實現(xiàn)有價值生活所必須的創(chuàng)造力、內(nèi)驅(qū)力、社會敘事、社交、系統(tǒng)變革等9種社會創(chuàng)新能力。

“對學習深度投入”
Demleitner院長介紹說，圣約翰學院教育的一大特點是《巨著項目》，特別關注學生在傾聽、閱讀、寫作方面的培養(yǎng)。
啟明星也有類似的設計。學校特別鼓勵家庭共讀，設置圖書館課，每年舉辦閱讀月或閱讀周，在電子端提供近30種學習資源和數(shù)據(jù)庫，而這些資源也向所有家長開放！
Demleitner院長說，她能夠感受到啟明星是一個對學習有著深度投入的社區(qū)！

On March 6, Nora Demleitner, President of St. John’s College, the third-oldest higher education institution in the United States, visited Daystar Academy.
President Demleitner introduced parents to the unique liberal arts education system in the U.S., was interviewed by the Daystar Academy Student TV Station, and toured the campus.
The head of this 329-year-old institution’s Annapolis campus remarked that Daystar Academy felt both familiar and welcoming to her because it shares many similarities with St. John’s College—
"Small Yet Refined"
Founded in 1696, St. John’s College is the third-oldest higher education institution in the U.S. It has two campuses, each with 500 students, similar in size to Daystar Academy.
President Demleitner pointed out that small-scale communities offer clear advantages—not only do students receive more attention and access to resources that are difficult to obtain in larger universities, but they also engage in deeper communication and interaction.
After speaking with Daystar Academy’s parents and teachers,she felt that Daystar Academy fosters the same close-knit community.
"Exploring the True Meaning of Life"
President Demleitner emphasized that liberal arts colleges go beyond teaching technical knowledge. They cultivate critical thinking and communication skills, encourage open discussions, and help students explore the true meaning of life, preparing them for the complexity and uncertainty of the world.
As a result, St. John’s graduates pursue diverse careers, becoming lawyers, journalists, Wall Street financiers, teachers, and researchers.
This educational philosophy closely aligns with that of Daystar Academy, which encourages students to discover their true passions. Through its unique social innovation program,Daystar Academy nurtures nine key social innovation skills essential for a meaningful life, including creativity, intrinsic motivation, social narratives, networking, and skills for systems change.

"A Deep Commitment to Learning"
One of the hallmarks of St. John’s College is its Great Books Program, which emphasizes active listening, deep reading, and writing.
Daystar Academy has a similar approach. The school encourages family reading, incorporates library classes, hosts an annual Literacy Month/Week, and provides nearly 30 online learning resources and databases—all of which are accessible to parents as well!
President Demleitner noted that she could sense the deep commitment to learning in the Daystar Academy community.
