In terms of the comparison betweenmale and female drivers,it is clear thatthere was an upward trend forboth genders. The percentage of malesgrew steadily, risingfrom 70% to 80% between 1976 and 2006. The proportion of womenalsoincreased,butmore significantly,doublingfrom around 30% to 60% during the same period.
