Dear Jim,

I'm thrilled to hear that you're participating in the “Confucius in My Eyes” activity. I strongly recommend focusing on Confucius' idea of “Ren” (benevolence), which is the cornerstone of his philosophy. As we know, benevolence is not only a virtue but also a way to create a harmonious society. In today's world, where conflicts and misunderstandings are common, the idea of benevolence can inspire people to treat each other with kindness and respect. For example, in schools, students who practice benevolence are more likely to build positive relationships with their peers. This idea can also be applied to families and communities, promoting a sense of unity and mutual support.

Moreover, I believe that by highlighting this idea, you can make your work more appealing and thought-provoking. It is important to show how Confucius' teachings are still relevant today and can offer valuable insights for modern life. I'm sure your unique perspective will make a great contribution to the activity.

Wish you all the best in the competition! I'm looking forward to reading your wonderful work.

Yours,

Li Hua

Dear Jim,

Thrilled to hear about your participation in the Confucius in My Eyes contest, I’d love to share a fresh, imaginative take that could make your entry shine.

Why not craft a digital comic series? Instead of merely explaining Confucius’ ideas, you could bring them to life by illustrating a modern-day teenager, say Leo, discovering The Analects in a used bookstore. As he reads, ancient wisdom magically intertwines with his daily struggles—resolving conflicts with friends, overcoming exam stress, or even debating ethics in AI. What makes this unique is blending Confucian values (like junzi ideals) with futuristic dilemmas, showing their timeless adaptability.

It’s precisely this creative angle that would captivate judges. By using vivid visuals and relatable scenarios, you’d prove Confucius isn’t just a historical figure but a guide for the digital age. What I strongly suggest is that you end with an open question: “How would Confucius navigate social media?”—sparking reflection.

Ultimately, your goal is clear: to show how philosophy transcends time. With your talent, this could be groundbreaking. Go for it!

Yours,

Li Hua

(Language Highlights):

非謂語動詞 (Doing): "discovering The Analects..."

非限制性定語從句: "What makes this unique is blending..., which bridges past and present."

強調(diào)句: "It’s precisely this creative angle that..."

What I strongly suggest is that..."

賓語從句: "you’d prove (that) Confucius isn’t just..."

短語: bring to life, spark reflection, transcend time
