記者從復(fù)旦大學(xué)獲悉，復(fù)旦大學(xué)建校120周年來臨之際，復(fù)旦大學(xué)材料系高分子專業(yè)1985級(jí)校友李平、歷史學(xué)系1986級(jí)校友廖梅夫婦決定為母校一次性捐贈(zèng)10億人民幣，支持建設(shè)復(fù)旦大學(xué)學(xué)敏高等研究院。
學(xué)敏高等研究院定位為世界頂尖的自然科學(xué)領(lǐng)域高水平基礎(chǔ)研究和交叉研究機(jī)構(gòu)，以交叉性、前沿性、國際化為建設(shè)宗旨，致力成為世界頂尖的科技創(chuàng)新策源地，為國家高水平科技自立自強(qiáng)、建設(shè)世界科技強(qiáng)國，貢獻(xiàn)復(fù)旦力量。
As Fudan University is about to celebrate its 120th anniversary of founding, its alumni couple Li Ping and Liao Mei has made a one-time donation of 1 billion yuan ($137 million) to their alma mater to support the construction of the university's Xue Min Institute of Advanced Studies, which aims to become a world's top institution for high-level basic research and interdisciplinary research of natural sciences. alumni /??l?mna?/ 校友 alma mater /??lm? ?mɑ?t?(r)/ 母校
“我們希望為學(xué)校捐助一個(gè)項(xiàng)目。這個(gè)項(xiàng)目應(yīng)該是比較困難的——在學(xué)術(shù)上有挑戰(zhàn)性，需要花費(fèi)很久時(shí)間，需要很多財(cái)力支持，但是會(huì)產(chǎn)生深遠(yuǎn)的社會(huì)影響。我們把它當(dāng)作我們的社會(huì)責(zé)任?！绷蚊愤@樣闡釋他們?cè)趯ふ业捻?xiàng)目。
"We have been looking for such a donation program at Fudan, which we expect to be academically challenging, time-consuming, and financially demanding, but can have a profound effect on society. We would regard it as our social responsibility," said Liao Mei, an alumnus in the class of 1986 from the Department of History at Fudan University.
去年11月，李平、廖梅夫婦回到母校，第一次從學(xué)校科研負(fù)責(zé)人那里聽說了學(xué)校高起點(diǎn)建設(shè)研究院的構(gòu)想。在與校領(lǐng)導(dǎo)多次深入交流討論后，夫婦倆覺得研究院的設(shè)想完全與他們的想法吻合。雙方一拍即合，夫婦倆決定捐資10億元，支持建設(shè)復(fù)旦大學(xué)學(xué)敏高等研究院，助力學(xué)校基礎(chǔ)研究和交叉研究。
“我們覺得中國已經(jīng)到了這個(gè)階段——可以在自然科學(xué)、基礎(chǔ)科學(xué)領(lǐng)域，為全人類、全世界做一些貢獻(xiàn)?！崩钇?、廖梅夫婦對(duì)此充滿期待。
Li Ping, a polymers major in the class of 1985 from Fudan's Department of Materials, is the co-founder of Chinese battery giant CATL. He and Liao first learned about the university's plan of establishing an advanced studies institute in November, and quickly hit it off after rounds of discussion. "We feel China has come to the stage where it can make some contributions to the whole of humanity and world in the fields of natural sciences and basic sciences," said Li.
學(xué)敏高等研究院的成立，是復(fù)旦大學(xué)積極響應(yīng)國家加強(qiáng)基礎(chǔ)研究號(hào)召的重要舉措，也是學(xué)校邁向國際頂尖研究型創(chuàng)新型大學(xué)的關(guān)鍵一步。這對(duì)上海乃至全國的科技創(chuàng)新，是一次重要的改革試驗(yàn)。

面向全球招募頂尖青年人才
學(xué)敏高等研究院已啟動(dòng)人才招募工作，計(jì)劃在十年內(nèi)引進(jìn)近百名全球頂尖的青年學(xué)者，尤其是博士畢業(yè)后5年左右的青年科學(xué)家，不限學(xué)科和國籍。
“我們將瞄準(zhǔn)90后、95后甚至更年輕的頂尖科研人才?！毕嚓P(guān)負(fù)責(zé)人表示，研究院希望吸引那些對(duì)科學(xué)充滿熱愛、具有創(chuàng)新潛力和跨學(xué)科研究能力的人才，鼓勵(lì)他們交叉碰撞，打造諾貝爾獎(jiǎng)級(jí)別的重大成果。
The institute is set to open its door to global best young scientists within five years after graduation from their doctoral programs, according to the university. It will provide support to help them carry out research with original breakthroughs, technological revolutions and far-reaching influences, striving for research results that can push forward the development of the society by leaps and bounds.

對(duì)入選的青年人才，研究院將按需提供各類資源與支持，給予長(zhǎng)周期的穩(wěn)定支持，期限最長(zhǎng)為20年，確?？蒲腥藛T專注于高風(fēng)險(xiǎn)、高價(jià)值的研究項(xiàng)目，無需為短期問題擔(dān)憂。
學(xué)術(shù)委員會(huì)成員、諾貝爾化學(xué)獎(jiǎng)得主邁克爾·萊維特（Michael Levitt）認(rèn)為，研究院招募的科學(xué)家是有好奇心、有韌性、懂協(xié)作的年輕人?！捌诖芯吭耗軌蛉诤蠔|西方學(xué)術(shù)傳統(tǒng)中的精華，成為全球先進(jìn)科研機(jī)構(gòu)的典范。讓來自全世界的不同學(xué)科的學(xué)者匯聚于此，開展深度、長(zhǎng)周期、前瞻性的原創(chuàng)探索?！比R維特說。
The institute will also be equipped with an academic council consisting of high-level international scholars, including Nobel Prize winners. Nobel laureate in chemistry Michael Levitt, a member of the academic council, said he expected the institute to blend the best of Eastern and Western academics and become a global leader in advanced studies. "We hope scholars from various fields across the world can gather here, to carry out in-depth, long-term and forward-looking original researches."

上世紀(jì)80年代，李平與廖梅在復(fù)旦相遇、相知。他們是學(xué)校校園文化的活躍分子，在學(xué)生會(huì)的工作中并肩合作，最終攜手成為人生伴侶。
在學(xué)生會(huì)中，李平負(fù)責(zé)學(xué)校社團(tuán)的管理，為校園文化活動(dòng)的開展做了大量工作。廖梅主要負(fù)責(zé)宣傳工作，組織過校園廣播大獎(jiǎng)賽。
同為當(dāng)年學(xué)生會(huì)成員的楊增國，用“一動(dòng)一靜”形容這對(duì)復(fù)旦伉儷：李平是個(gè)性格開朗、熱心腸的人，處事風(fēng)風(fēng)火火，雷厲風(fēng)行，校園文化活動(dòng)中總少不了他的身影；而廖梅則截然不同，安靜恬淡，講話細(xì)聲細(xì)語，是個(gè)典型的文藝青年。
本科畢業(yè)后，李平投身商界，是寧德時(shí)代副董事長(zhǎng)。廖梅則在復(fù)旦讀了十年書，是著名歷史學(xué)家朱維錚教授指導(dǎo)的第一位國內(nèi)博士生。
