Protests erupted in dozens of cities across the United States on Saturday over the controversial policies unveiled by US President Donald Trump's administration since January. Crowds of protesters took to the streets to oppose Trump over the economy, immigration and human rights.
抗議者聲稱，特朗普和馬斯克正在試圖對美國政府進(jìn)行一系列改革，比如全面加征關(guān)稅、減少政府的開支、大規(guī)模裁員等，很多人對當(dāng)前的政策和改革感到擔(dān)憂，希望通過和平的方式表達(dá)自己的不滿。
Since taking office, the Trump administration has faced heavy criticism for sweeping policy changes, including mass layoffs in federal agencies, deportation of immigrants, steep budget cuts and imposing tariffs on multiple countries.
而特朗普的支持者認(rèn)為，他的政策是必要的，因為美國政府長期以來被自由派主導(dǎo)，存在浪費(fèi)和低效等問題。他們認(rèn)為特朗普的大膽行動可以打破這種局面，恢復(fù)“傳統(tǒng)美國價值觀”。
據(jù)悉，已有超過50萬人報名參加這1400多場集會、游行或抗議活動，活動計劃在美國50個州舉行，抗議主題為“Hands Off”，即住手、不要胡亂干預(yù)。
Organized by a coalition of more than 150 groups, including civil rights organizations, labor unions and veterans' associations, the coordinated move led to over 1,400 protests nationwide. According to organizers, over 500,000 people have signed up for the "Hands off" movement.
